Transportation plays an important part in the continued progress and development of Spanish Wells.

Since we are an island community, it is vital that we have a good transportation system to ensure goods and passengers can flow freely to and from the rest of The Bahamas and the world. There are many avenues that provide this essential service, including freight and passenger boats that come directly to the island. Also, North Eleuthera airport is utilized by those that choose air travel to get to and from Spanish Wells, and for air cargo services. From the airport a brief drive will put you at Jean's Bay Dock, where a short boat ride will land you at Spanish Wells. Taxi and water taxi services are available to assist in this area. While on Spanish Wells visitors have the opportunity to rent a golf cart, or if preferred take the island taxi.
